Hazardous comets and asteroids are tracked by various space agencies, but British-based astronomers say there are many dangerous ones still going undetected, New Scientist magazine reported.  Previous research suggests comets nudge in the Earth's direction when the solar system periodically passes through the galactic plane.  These comets appear to coincide with the dates of ancient impact craters found on Earth — suggesting they were caused by comets and not asteroids.  "There is a case to be made that dark, dormant comets are a significant but largely unseen hazard," said Bill Napier at Cardiff University.  Napier and David Asher, at Armagh Observatory, say dark comets may still be in the solar system, and could come near Earth.  Dark comets happen when a comet's reflective water ice evaporates away, and leaves behind an organic crust.  Since the water's gone, they don't reflect light, making it hard for astronomers to see them until they're right on top of us.  Read More

A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.

Both the second and third trumpet judgments describe giant comets that will clobber the earth during the End Times. The first appears as a huge mountain blazing with fire that hits the Mediterranean Sea. The other is described as a huge star, blazing like a torch that wipes out and pollutes a third of the rivers and a third of the springs. Both are a part of God’s supernatural wrath designed to inflict fiery judgment on the Antichrist and all the wicked who support his kingdom of darkness which will then dominate the earth.  (To better understand the physical nature of these events, study them in connection with the plagues of Egypt as found in Exodus 7-11.) Interestingly, the first comet is unnamed, but the second is called Wormwood.

Could these news articles help explain why one comet is unnamed, and the other is named?  Perhaps the first is undetected, a ‘dark comet’ that is right now prowling around in our solar system. When this unseen hazard strikes, it seems to be so sudden that it catches scientists, and everyone else, totally off guard. This ‘dark comet’ will be so unexpected there isn’t even enough time to give it a name! And perhaps the second comet that is also hiding from us today as it zips around the heavens, will eventually be discovered, but only with enough advanced warning to give it the ominous, yet prophesied Biblical name, Wormwood. I love the Word of God and I love prophecy. It is amazing how current news stories continue to line up with everything God has told us will happen.
