Donnie's Remarks...

From a Biblical viewpoint, Jerusalem, from the very beginning, has been the center of the world. Jewish tradition teaches that the Temple Mount is the focal point of creation.  It was on this holy ground that the Garden of Eden once existed and where Adam and Eve came into being and dwelt with God.  It was here, on Mount Moriah, where Abraham offered up Isaac as the first sacrifice.  The First and Second Temples were built upon this place in order to make sacrifices to God.  Jerusalem's Temple Mount was chosen as the dwelling place of the Shekinah Glory.  And most importantly, Jesus the Messiah was crucified in this holy city as He came to fulfill the meaning of the sacrifices.

The Kingdom of God begins and ends in Jerusalem.  In the Book of Acts, the Gospel was sent to the world from Jerusalem.  After the Gospel has been preached to the entire world, it will return to Jerusalem in the form of 144,000 Jewish believers.  They will be the first fruits of Israel to respond and then the end will come.  After this final revival comes to Jerusalem, Jesus will return to make the city the capital and worship center of His world-wide kingdom.

In the meantime, as we come closer and closer to the Second Coming of Jesus, the conflict over Jerusalem will become more and more intense.  Eventually war will break out and the nations of the world will attack Jerusalem. At that time, when the nations attack, Jesus will intervene and step into the battle.  That is the moment of the Second Coming.  He will come to defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, His beloved city.  And He will destroy the nations that have attacked her.
