JERUSALEM -- New details are coming out about President Barack Obama's Middle East peace plan. Reports indicate he wants to divide Jerusalem and give half to the Palestinians.  That comes just as Israelis mark the 42-year anniversary of Jerusalem's return to Jewish sovereignty during the Six-Day War. Two major Israeli newspapers reported that Obama will propose redividing the city, with east Jerusalem becoming the capital of a future Palestinian state and the Old City coming under international control.  Read More

Donnie's Remarks...

This Friday Israel celebrates the victorious Six-Day War.  On June 11, 1967, Israel recaptured the city of Jerusalem.  Jerusalem was re-united with the nation Israel.  We are the generation that witnessed that glorious day.  We are also the generation that witnessed the physical rebirth of the nation Israel in 1948.  On that day the promised land was restored to its original owners.  Why are these two dates so important to us?

Matthew 24:34 (NIV)
[34] I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Jesus told us that the generation who sees all the signs of Matthew 24 fulfilled, would be the 'last generation' living on earth.  This generation would be eye-witnesses to His Second Coming.  I realize not all the signs of Matthew 24 have been fulfilled, but two key prophecies have... Israel is a nation, and the city Jerusalem has been reclaimed.  And did you know that Daniel's prophecy of seventy weeks concerns the people of Israel and the holy city Jerusalem?

Daniel 9:24 (NASB77)
[24] "Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people (Israel) and your holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

Daniel 9:27 (NASB77)
[27] "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."

Israel is God's timepiece.  Israel, and the city of Jerusalem are God's keys to the future.  We must never forget that God keeps His promises.  He will keep those He has made to us and the Church.  And He will keep those He has made to Israel.
