Israel gave serious thought this spring to launching a military strike on Iran's nuclear sites but was told by President George W Bush that he would not support it and did not expect to revise that view for the rest of his presidency, senior European diplomatic sources have told the Guardian...  Several high-level Israeli officials have hinted over the last two years that Israel might strike Iran's nuclear facilities to prevent them being developed to provide sufficient weapons-grade uranium to make a nuclear bomb. Iran has always denied having such plans... The US announced two weeks ago that it would sell Israel 1,000 bunker-busting bombs. The move was interpreted by some analysts as a consolation prize for Israel after Bush told Olmert of his opposition to an attack on Iran. But it could also enhance Israel's attack options in case the next US president revives the military option. Read More

Defense News.  By Gayle S. Putrich.  September 26, 2008

U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has deployed to Israel a high-powered X-band radar and the supporting people and equipment needed for coordinated defense against Iranian missile attack, marking the first permanent U.S. military presence on Israeli soil...  EUCOM has repeatedly deployed troops and Patriot air defense batteries for joint exercises and Iraq-related wartime contingencies, but has never before permanently deployed troops on Israeli soil...  Once operational, the combined U.S. and Israeli system is expected to double or even triple the range at which Israel can detect, track and ultimately intercept Iranian missiles, according to Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, director of the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency.  During a visit to Israel in early August, Obering said the X-Band radar could add precious minutes to the time in which Israel has to respond to incoming missile attacks.  "The missile threat from Iran is very real, and we must stay ahead of the threat ... that's why we're working so hard with all our allies to put the most optimized, effective, anti-missile capabilities in place," Obering said.  Read More

Iranian leaders calling for Israel's destruction - Is a military strike against Iran Inevitable?

Donnie's Remarks...

When the US deploys troops anywhere in the world, it is significant.  When the US deploys troops to Israel, marking the first permanent presence in Israel of American military personnel, it may be prophetically significant. On 10.02.08 Infolive.tv's CEO Olivier Rafowicz discussed with Margot Dudkevitch, Editor in Chief, the increase in rhetoric by Iranian leaders calling for Israel's destruction, and whether a military strike against Iran's nuclear instillations is inevitable.  This week the ayatollah who rules Iran, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, proclaimed "The world of Islam has awakened, and the ‘absolute’ defeat of Israel is imminent.”  Khamenei also claimed that “even senior Zionists admit that Israel is weakening.” He added that he “foresees the present generation witnessing the ‘big day’ of Israel's demise”. This anti-Semite rhetoric lines up with Biblical warnings that in the last days Israel will be attacked by several nations including Iran and Russia.  We may very well be the generation to witness this massive attack.  And if this war happens to occur on our watch, I want to challenge everyone that the promise God gave to Abraham 4000 years ago, still applies today.

Genesis 12:1-3 (NIV)
1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

I pray the United States continues to stand with and bless God's re-established nation Israel, regardless of the cost!
