Sign #5: The Rise of the Antichrist	Revelation 13:18 (NIV) 18 This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666. Daniel 11:36-39 (NIV) 36 "The king will do as he pleases. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god and will say unheard-of things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, for what has been determined must take place. 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his fathers or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all. 38 Instead of them, he will honor a god of fortresses; a god unknown to his fathers he will honor with gold and silver, with precious stones and costly gifts. 39 He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute the land at a price.  Daniel 8:23-25 (NIV) 23 "In the latter part of their reign, when rebels have become completely wicked, a stern-faced king, a master of intrigue, will arise. 24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does. He will destroy the mighty men and the holy people. 25 He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.
What it looks like	I have seen nothing on this front yet. I keep watching and wondering. Who is he? Where is he? And when he appears, I anticipate things to happen shockingly fast as he rises to great power in a very short time. It’s possible that Gog of Ezekiel 38 fame is another name for the Antichrist which means he would first come down from southern Russia possibly into the Iraq, Iran, Syria arena, all beds of instability. The Antichrist and his kingdom will be associated with the #666. On June 5, 2000 the WEU adopted its Assembly Recommendation 666 which created the office "High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy" giving this one person special emergency (military) powers.  Not sure if that relates.

The breaking of the seals has not yet occurred.  The events they depict are still future.  The seals will be broken within a still future seven-year period, biblically referred to as the Seventieth week of Daniel.  (Daniel 9:24-27)

Marvin Rosenthal, Author, Teacher and Executive Director of Zion's Hope Ministries, has a marvelous new website and it is loaded with valuable information concerning the end times.  Marv's excellent book, The Pre-Wrath Rapture of the Church, has been foundational to this website and my understanding of Bible prophecy.  I had the privilege of meeting Marv once, and we had a memorable conversation.  Marv asked me what argument in his book most convinced me that the Rapture would not be 'pre-tribulation.'  I told him, "That's easy, 2 Thessalonians 2 and how the Church would witness the Antichrist proclaiming himself God in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem before the Second Coming of Jesus."  Marv smiled and heartily shook his head up and down. "Exactly," he responded.

¹ Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers,
² not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by some prophecy, report or letter supposed to have come from us, saying that the day of the Lord has already come.
³ Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
⁴ He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

Events associated with a person commonly referred to as the Antichrist will indicate the Lord's coming to a specific generation.  He will arise out of a ten-nation European empire.  He will be associated with the number 666.  The future Antichrist will bring peace to the Middle East.

The European Union was designed to create a super-state or a "United States of Europe" that could rival the United States in political, economic and military might.  In 1999 Javier Solana became the High Representative for the EU's foreign and security policy.  In 2000, through Assembly Recommendation 666, he was given emergency powers over the WEU, the military wing of the EU.

On June 5, 2000 the Western European Union, a ten nation alliance, made themselves the official military wing of the EU. 

They created the political office "High Representative for the common Foreign and Security Policy." 

Recommendation 666 gave one person special emergency powers and the authority to act for the EU.

The 10-nation alliance made themselves the official military wing of the EU and the new Mr. Europe was given emergency powers. And the most shocking part ... this was all done with the Western European Union's...  Assembly Recommendation 666! 

RECOMMENDATION 666

Javier Solana is relatively unknown in the U.S. but is very powerful in Europe and the world.   This from his web page:

Mr. Solana assists the Council in foreign policy matters, through contributing to the formulation, preparation and implementation of European policy decisions. He acts on behalf of the Council in conducting political dialogue with third parties.

From 1995-1999 he served as the Secretary General of NATO. In 1999 he became the Secretary General of both the European Union (EU) and a permanent member and Secretary General of the ten-nation WEU, the EU's "military arm." In 2000 he became the High Representative for the CFSP. "Recommendation 666" was drafted by Javier Solana in 2000, calling for special powers to be given to the High Representative in the event of a military emergency. In 2004 he was appointed head of the European Defense Agency, which aims to streamline European defense initiatives. He is advocating the implementation of the EU's 2010 Headline Goal, which is to be able to rapidly (five to ten days) deploy troops and effectively respond to a military crisis in the event of an emergency. In 2006 he was appointed head of the European anti-terrorism force, an EU body composed of police, civil and military assets. He is responsible for the implementation of the European Neighbourhood policy (ENP) which gives financial incentives to states in exchange for political reforms.   This Policy is to last from 2007 - 2013, with a mid-term review. Its prime aim is to bring security and political control to Europe's borders. He is the head of the Council of the European Union, the main decision making body for the EU.

Javier Solana is currently brokering an agreement with Iran's President Ahmadinejad in order to dissuade him from producing nuclear weapons. He is actively involved in the Quartet (EU, UN, US and Russia) peace efforts in the Middle East.    

I believe he may have created the office of the Antichrist.  He is a person we should keep an eye on.
