In the News...

Jews for Jesus. By David Brickner. August 15, 2009

The request reads: "Children wanted for Future Temple service. Ultra-orthodox Jewish sect is searching for parents willing to hand over newborn sons to be raised in isolation and purity in preparation for the rebuilding of the biblical temple in Jerusalem. Only members of the Jewish priestly caste, the Kohanim need apply..."

Words from an ancient scroll discovered in a recent archaeological dig? Or perhaps an excerpt from a Hollywood screenplay for some biblical epic? Actually, those words appeared in the contemporary Israeli newspaper, Haaretz.1 Read More

Donnie's Remarks...

Jews for Jesus. I have always loved that title. This excellent summary article helps us understand why everyone is becoming fascinated with the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem and the unfulfilled prophecies that surround it. The Tribulation Temple will be built by unbelieving Jews. (This soon-to-be rebuilt temple is not the same as the Millennial Temple, which will be built by Jesus at His Second Coming. You can read about it in Ezekiel 40-48). The Antichrist will desecrate the Tribulation Temple (this is called the Abomination of Desolation) by taking a seat of authority inside the Temple and claiming to be God. All these events will signify we are in the first 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th week. Keep your eyes on Jerusalem. That's where the action will begin.

Revelation 11:1-2 (NIV)
1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, "Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there.
2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.

Matthew 24:15-16 (NIV)
15 "So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand--
16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (NIV)
3 Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
