The Temple Mount in Jerusalem remains a cauldron of heated religious and political passions. Hamas is behind this agitation and one wonders how farwill they take it.Prophecy suggeststhat one day soon a new Jewish temple will bebuilt on the Temple Mount. I believe the Antichrist somehow will be behind the rebuilding of the third temple, for itis on this holy placethat he will declare himself God.It is here where the Antichrist and the False Prophet will unite to unleash the Great Tribulation period. The Abomination of Desolation isthebench-mark event that starts the final 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th week, therefore we should be on watch for these types of stories concerning the Temple Mount.

This is not the only story in the news thatshould begrabbingour attention. We are about to see the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, which isthe constitutional document of the European Union. The Bible teaches the ancient Roman Empire will re-emerge as a political force in the last days.

Revelation 17:9-11 (NIV)
[9] "This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.
[10] They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. [11] The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

When John was writing Revelation,five great world powers had already suppressed and dominated the nation Israel; 1. Egypt 2. Assyria 3. Babylon 4. Persia 5. Greece. The kings of each of these kingdoms possessed a satanic anti-Semitism and an unholy hatred of the nation Israel. All were conquered and absorbed. The current powerin John's day was the sixth kingdom,Rome, which was ruled by the Caesars. I believe the 7th kingdom, which was in the future from John's perspective, was Nazi Germany. The same wickedness demonstrated by the previous kingdoms wsonce again perpetrated on the Jews. The 8th and final kingdom prophesied by John will be the revived Roman Empire.

For the first time the EU will appoint a President/Foreign Minister. Is this the prophesied revived Roman Empire, the eighth kingdom? It gets better: Javier Solana, who some believemay become, orwho hasat least created the office of the Antichrist with Recommendation 666, is intimately involved with the selection of this new 'King of Europe.' Mr. Solana isscheduled to meet withPresident Obama to Host EU Leaders In Washington Next Month. Solana, who was to have retired in October, continues to press Middle East Peace and has predicted a Palestinian state in the 1967 borders.The 67-year old Solana, who was in Israel this week as a guest at the President's Conference, is uncertain what the future holds for him. He is also not willing to reveal whom, among the candidates for the new position, he prefers.

And one more thing. Direct Prophecy Alert: This week Turkey officially left the Western alliance and became a full member of the Iranian axis. Bible prophecies found in Ezekiel 38-39 which indicate that in the “last days” Turkey (identified in the prophecies as “Gomer” and part of “Beth Togarmah”) will join a Russian-Iranian alliance against Israel.

If you listen carefully, you can almost hear the hoof beats of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse!
