Daily Sacrifices, 2,300 Days of Daniel
1.Show Daniel’s 70th week chart. Read Daniel 8:9-14 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled—the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, the rebellion that causes desolation, and the surrender of the sanctuary and of the host that will be trampled underfoot?” He said to me, “It will take 2,300 evenings and mornings; then the sanctuary (temple) will be reconsecrated (restored).”
Let’s do some simple math: 360 x 7 = 2520 days is the length of Daniel’s 70th week.
Two scenarios: 2520 – 2300 = 220 days. Or, 2550 – 2300 = 250 days.
2.The prophetic start of daily sacrifices will leave NO DOUBT that the last seven years have begun.
3.The Daniel 8 prophecy of 2,300 days reveals and marks 4 distinct future time periods for us to understand.
a. It marks for us that the the starting of the Daily (morning and evening) sacrifices in the first year of Daniel’s 70th week. We will show from the start of the sacrifices to the stopping of the sacrifices will be 1,010 days (We will be doing some simple math.).
b. It marks when the sacrifices will be stopped. Antichrist will stop the daily sacrifices at midpoint. A few days later Antichrist will set up the Abomination of Desolation in the temple of God (Rev. 11). Antichrist will proclaim he is greater than the God of the Bible. Dan. 9:27
c. The Abomination of Desolation starts the Great Tribulation, and the sanctuary of the temple will be trampled by the Gentiles for 42 months or 1,260 days. Daniel 7:25
d. Finally, Daniel 12:11 tells us “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Daniel adds 30 additional or extra days.
4.Nothing in history has sufficiently answered the 2,300 days of Daniel 8:9-14. It’s still future!
5.The Jews have been without a temple and sacrifice since 70 A.D. The rebuilt temple will be the premier sign the Great Tribulation has begun!!!
6.Some form of future agreement, a 7-year covenant will provide for conditions that permit, not only Jewish access to the temple mount, but the consecration of the holy place in a new temple and the soon starting again of the daily sacrifice.
7.The covenant of Daniel 9:27 will be followed by the deceptive peace (aka The covenant of Death) described in Isaiah 28:15, 18; Daniel 8:25; 9:27; 11:23-24; 1 Thessalonians 5:3. It’s a deal w the Devil.
8.This rebuilt temple is mentioned in Rev. 11:1-2 and its dimensions are given. And it is called the temple of God.
9.There will be a rebuilt temple and there is simply no way around it.
10.All the End Time passages that speak of a temple and the holy place mean what they say! What about the objection “This may be a spiritual temple. Didn’t Paul teach our bodies are a spiritual temple? Yes, and Paul taught there is going to be a literal temple in 2 Thes. 2. Jesus in Mt.24 taught that in the holy place the AoD would be set up in the temple before His return, that prophetic temple Daniel prophesied would be the center of battle for Jerusalem in the last days.
11.No future peace agreement can decisively confirm that the final seven years has begun UNLESS it provides for the immediate resumption of the daily sacrifice on an altar, or in a temple that has been only recently recovered to Jewish possession.
12.A “peace initiative” that will at last provide for the real beginnings of a temple is the only kind of peace initiative that should command our attention… promising a soon beginning of the last seven years. I think the correct interpretation the 2,300 day prophecy of Dan 8:13, which shows the sacrifice as starting 2,300 days before the end.
13.From the time of the Daily Sacrifice is taken away and the Abomination of Desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days (Daniel 12:11)
14.The difference between the half week described in Daniel 7:25; 9:27; 12:7,11 and the longer period of Daniel 8:14 is the difference in the starting point of the sacrifice.
15.The vision of 2,300 days marks the time from when the sacrifice begins until the sanctuary is cleansed (Dan 8:14).
16.Within the first year after the covenant has been confirmed, the sacrifice starts, only to be stopped soon afterward in the middle of the seven (the midpoint of Daniel’s 70th week).
17.The sanctuary is cleansed exactly on the 1290th day after the stopping of the sacrifice.
18.The 2,300 (6 years, 4 months, 20 days) terminates at the point of the 1290th day of Daniel 12:11.
19. Knowing the events that mark the first half of the week will be crucial for our preparation for the unprecedented test (The Great Tribulation) that follows the abomination of desolation.
20.The angel Gabriel gave the exact number of days, because the Lord knew how important it would be for His people to have clarity about this vision. Due to so much deception in the EndTimes.
21.Jesus command to read and understand this prophecy (Matthew 24: 25-26) is to make sure we are not deceived. Many false messiahs and false prophets will arise and show great deceptive signs and wonders.
22.Perhaps these inner rooms he referred to are the two inner rooms in the temple. Remember he said we would see the abomination of desolation, the Antichrist, standing in the holy place. We need to be prepared for this deception. Matthew 24:15
23.Matt. 24:27 teaches that anyone appearing in the temple claiming to be the Messiah who doesn't come on the clouds with great glory that every eye shall see is a false Messiah. Pure and simple, no matter how slick his presentation or entrance or how convincing the signs and wonders the man who sits in the temple is the Antichrist.
24.So, the start of the daily sacrifices is the definitive sign. When the Jewish sacrifices begin, that will be the start of Daniel’s 2,300 day prophecy. This 2,300 days is a difficult passage, but it definitely marks 4 critical time periods that gives us tremendous and critical information regarding the Antichrist and the temple sacrifices.
a. It marks for us the starting of the sacrifices ~250 days or 7-8 months after the signing of the 7-year covenant.
b. It tells us when the sacrifices are stopped by the Antichrist, The Abomination will occur a few days later, when Antichrist will stand in the temple and proclaim himself God.
c. It identifies the period of time the Gentiles will trample the sanctuary of the temple, which is 1,260 or 1290 days.
d. Finally, Daniel 12:11 tells us “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Daniel adds 30 additional or extra days. Daniel 9:27 tells us that is when Antichrist is destroyed!
25.Let’s do a little math… and work backwards: Daniel’s 70th week is 2520 days. The second 3 ½ years = 1,260 days of trampling + 30 extra or additional days = 1,290 days. Given 2,300 total days in the vision minus 1290 days = 1,010 days of sacrifice during the first 3 ½ years.
Summary: 1010 days + 1260 days + 30 days = 2,300 days (Mornings and Evenings).
26.This leaves us ~250 days, give or take, from beginning of 70th week to start of sacrifices. 7-8 months after the signing of the “7-year Covenant of death” Antichrist will start sacrifices.
